2017 NAR Conference Live “Featured Attendee”

Yet another Annual Conference and Set of Governance Meetings are in the rearview mirror!  It’s been an honor and privilege to have been given the opportunity to report to you at these events and meetings, from my perspective as a “Conference Live Featured Attendee”, and for my third year on the this awesome team!

My hometown of Chicago, albeit a little rainy and chilly this past week, hosted a great Conference,  The volunteer NAR Conference Committee (with the Chicago Assoc. of REALTORS President Rebbecca Thompson as Chair), did an awesome job.  And as always, the NAR Staff, pulled it all together, and executed it all amazingly!

So much was going on at the same time, as always, those of us that are fairly involved had a hard time trying to be everywhere.  NAR & Institutes, Societies & Councils Meetings, Forums, Education & General Sessions, Inaugurals & Networking, Association Breakfasts, Lunches & Dinners, RPAC & Major Investor Events, not to mention all that was going on with the Global side!

As for the Inaugurals, Elizabeth Mendenhall was installed as the 2018 (or 110th) NAR President, Gary Williams was installed as the 2018 CRS President, Jo Ann Stevens as 2018 WCR President, David Willson as 2018 President of CCIM, Miguel Berger as 2018 REBI President, Joseph Nahas as 2018 CRE Chairman, J. Benjamin McGrew as 2018 IREM President, Jimmy Settle as 2018 RLI President and Del Markward as 2018 President.

The Expo floor was as Exciting as ever.  NAR unveiled their new REALTOR Booth with expanded space to better incorporate the REALTOR Team Store while showcasing the RPAC & REALTOR Party as well as the Member Benefits areas, the GREEN Pavilion has expanded further to accommodate the growing number of Green Minded Business Partners.  And, the REALTOR University Booth is always a great place to learn about all their new programs.

Speaking of REALTOR U, Congrats to the 2018 NAR Leadership Academy Class!  They graduated at the Conference on Wed. Evening (11/01). About 160 attendees have been through the Academy since its first Class Graduated back in 2009!

From the Opening Session of the Governance Meetings (called the “NAR360”), to the General Session with Olympian Gold Medalist Michael Phelps, All around the Expo Floor, in and out of Educational Sessions, to the NAR Inaugural, to the Celeb Concert with John Fogerty, to the Board of Directors Meetings, it was a both a whirlwind, and wonderful Conference.  Thank you Chicago, Well Done!
