Home Staging – Selling Your Home During the Holidays!

With the holidays around the corner, the pressure is on sell your house.  Let’s face it, traffic slows down considerably during the fall and winter months.  It would be wise to do all you can NOW to ensure a quick sale.

Here are a few tips to attract buyers even during the holiday season!

1. Hire a reliable and committed real estate agent that will not leave you high and dry because they have their own holiday to plan.  You need an agent that will work hard for you even in this busy time.

2. Remember to price to sell.  Traffic will be low at this time so an attractive price might just close the sale.

3. Make curb appeal a priority.  Keep driveways clean of debris or snow.  Your porch should be free of clutter and look inviting and clean.  A wreath on your front door will show the buyer that the house is cared for.

4. Stage the inside of the house by decluttering, cleaning the carpets and rearranging the furniture to show off the space and square footage.  Personal items like photos and collectibles should all be put away as not to distract the
buyers from viewing what is important.  A few art pieces and pretty bedding always show well.  Remember that less accessorizing is more!

5. Decorating during this time is fine as long as it is tasteful and simple.  A beautiful holiday centerpiece will add sophistication but not overcrowd the space.

6. Creating a virtual tour and taking professional real estate photos is crucial at this time. It is much easier for buyers to shop online from the comfort of their home since their schedules of holiday arrangements and unpredictable weather may not make it easy to get out to view the house.  Making a good first impression online is key!

So do not fear in trying to sell your house during the holidays.  It can be done!
